The setup, one step at a time
Copy the M3U link
Find it in your activation message, in the shape http://server:port/get.php with your username and password appended as parameters. Look after it the way you would a password, because anyone who has that link has your subscription.
Feed it to the player
VLC takes it under Media, then Open Network Stream. Smart IPTV wants it at siptv.app/mylist. Kodi needs the IPTV Simple Client with the M3U URL filled in. TiViMate and Smarters will accept one under M3U playlist, though in those two you are better served by the Xtream login.
Supply the guide if it is asked for
A handful of players want the EPG handed over on its own. It is the same server address ending xmltv.php with your credentials appended, and a quick word to support puts it in your hands.
When something will not play
The list loads slowly
The file runs to thousands of entries, and lighter players read the lot before they show a single one. Either switch to a player built for categories, TiViMate or Smarters for instance, or ask support to send an M3U pared back to your own country.

Why do free M3U lists from GitHub stop working?
They are scraped streams reposted for anyone to grab, so thousands of people pull on one source at the same moment. The host shuts it off or it simply buckles, usually within days, and there is nobody to turn to when it dies. The sites passing them round are a known malware route as well. A paid playlist answers to your account and no one else, and that is the whole of the difference.
